Access to CAD, LLC began when Fountain noticed the lack of quality cad drafting support for a fast growing building design industry. She also realized the need for a company that could consistently provide high quality work for (1) primarily architects, engineers, and construction companies with an unmanageable workload, along with (2) companies that need a more customized solution to their design needs. With her skills and industry experience, Fountain saw this as an opportunity to start a successful business, doing what she loves.
Experience
Pittsburgh Technical Institute: Fountain received her Associates Degree in Industrial Drafting from Pittsburgh Technical Institute in 1980. Upon graduation, she immediately began what would be an exciting and multifaceted career in drafting.
Career: She began as a board drafter for an engineering insurance company and later progressed to computer drafting in the industrial plant industry. In 1984 Ms. Fountain relocated to Baltimore and to the position in structural department of an architectural firm, RTKL, where she worked in a supervisory position. Once promoted to Application Specialist, she was responsible for all CAD training and software support. She trained individuals to operate and become proficient using computer-aided drafting software and interacted with users in a classroom environment, sharing and teaching knowledge acquired over the years as a building design industry computer drafter.

Team Management: Ms. Fountain has directed CAD drafting teams responsible for the design of corporate office space, industrial parks, medical facilities, law offices, hotels, schools, shopping malls, residential facilities, financial institutions and parking facilities. She also has an extensive knowledge of computer-aided drafting software and national CAD standards, rules and regulations. Accomplishment: Collectively, Fountain has worked professionally as a drafter for 35 years and completed projects varying in scope from a $10,000 renovation to a $90 million new commercial construction program. Her knowledge of structural building systems and their integration provides her with a unique perspective on building design.
Following a very successful CAD drafting and training career, Fountain began to pursue her dream of establishing a Computer-Aided Drafting firm and established Access to CAD. The Company is managed by Pamela Fountain, wearing several hats. As the CAD Technician and Office Administrator, she ensures that day-to-day business is being addressed, as well as, identifies new business, develops and implements marketing activities, and negotiates and closes new contracts.
Ms. Fountain has a wealth of knowledge in the industry and is well-recognized throughout the local architectural and engineering communities for her experience in multi-disciplined build design and drafting software.
